Theodar hired a sage at Silverymoon's Vault of the Sages to research Brighthammer Keep, the cursed dwarven watchtower that the party fought the priestess of Auril in. These are the findings reported after a tenday of research by Rundleth the Knowledgeable.

Construction on the watchtower was begun in -1686 DR and finished in -1679 DR by clan Brighthammer, at the time one of the most prominent clans in Citadel Felbarr. The keep fell to the orcs in the Year of Slaughter (1090 DR), almost 2700 years after its founding. Unlike many of the other fallen dwarven holds in the area, Brighthammer Keep was never leveled or occupied by orcs. Historians believe that the thick, unnatural fogs that surround the tower have something to do with this.

Before it fell, the tower had an enormous ballista mounted on a retractable platform. This weapon is said to have brought down an attacking dragon on more than one occasion. The tower was also connected to an elaborate network of tunnels that connected many of the dwarven kingdom of Delzoun's citadels and outposts, including Citadels Felbarr and Adbar.

The last remnants of the Brighthammer clan are now in Citadel Adbar, led by Tal Brighthammer, priest of Dumathoin and current clan patriarch. The clan seems to be undergoing a renaissance, having been especially touched by the Thunder Blessing. Several young dwarves of the clan, barely of age, show great promise in the citadel's forges, and at least two pairs of twins of clan Brighthammer have become adventurers, proclaiming their intent to reclaim the clan's lost holdings.
